Hello, hello and Happy Spring ! Things have been super busy with the creation of our new live album, Gimme Some More, now available in the online store. We recorded our Mardi Gras gig at Little Switzerland, the greatest dancehall of all y'all. The energy was wild, and the band was all pumped up. I think the album captures the inspiration of the crowd. With Randy Quan, our guitar player, working his superb engineering skills, he was able to create the best of both worlds, live performance and excellent studio quality. The man is amazing!
The summer schedule is looking promising with gigs all over the place, Los Angeles, Redding, Anderson City, Portland, St. Helens, Medford, and of course, the Bay Area. See the calendar for a complete listing
Bruce Gordon has been with us going on two years and I'd say it was nothing short of a miracle that he showed up. He is multi talented withsuberb abilities on piano accordion, button box, and piano. He tirelessly lugs an inordinate amout of equipment to every gig so listeners and dancers can benefit from the wide range of his expression, which is deeply rooted in the Zydeco of Louisiana, and jazz, his secret love.
Beau Bradbury, my nephew by association, (his mom is my best friend and a dear friend of Richie's for 40 years) played his first 4 hour gig with us at Little Swiss, following my daughter's wedding on May 3rd. He knocked me out! 20 years old, good looking, disciplined, cool, talented. Very exciting.
I continue to book Cajun/Zydeco at Little Switzerland in Sonoma once a month. If you have not come, please do. You won't regret it.
I now work in a card store part time and enjoy browsing the beautiful cards, the artwork, photography, and quotes. Here's one:
a very flowy, romantic couple swirling on a dance floor, thoughtfully dressed to accentuate their bodies- and it said "dancing is like dreaming with your feet"
Keep on dancing, keep on dreaming
Yours Truly,
Ma Gator
